Having cut my teeth in the technology industry with a major system integrator, I have been fortunate to have ground myself in the pragmatic side of information technology through having lived in almost every role within an IT department. I now specialize in the alignment of technology with business, and have led efforts for IT organizational alignment, IT aspects of merger and acquisition efforts, established mission-critical technology partnerships and alliances, established IT governance and program management offices, and managed business-focused system acquisition and implementation. In addition, outside of the IT domain I have had the good fortune to have supported the executive suite of companies with the strategic alignment of products – channels – markets – value propositions, developed business plans guiding successful corporate strategies, and facilitated the raising of capital.
With a cross-industry perspective, my commercial sector clients include: [Health care] DaVita/Village Health, City of Hope, Blue Shield of California, Kaiser Permanente; [Financial Services] State Farm Insurance, Nationwide Financial Services, CNA Insurance, Selective Insurance, Banco Real (Brazil), Ameriquest Mortgage Company, Encore Credit; [Other Commercial] The Gap, Pitney Bowes, Johnson Controls, GTE (now Genuity and Verizon), Land Rover (England), Toshiba America Information Systems, and Hilton Hotels; [Public Sector] Los Angeles World Airports, Los Angeles County Justice, City of Los Angeles, Community Redevelopment Agency of Los Angeles, Province of Saskatchewan, and the Yukon territorial Government.
I have a portfolio of patents (pending) filed with the US Patent and Trade Organization around the management of risk within End-User Computing. I received my Master of Business Administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California and my Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Regina in Canada. My case study, “When Worlds Collide…” has been published by Prentice Hall in T.C. Tompkins (ed.) textbook, Cases in Organizational Behavior and Management., and my paper “Consolidate All IT?” was published in the Graziadio Business Journal (October, 2003).
With citizenship in both Canada and the United States, I moved to California in 1987 and now live in Orange County, California with my wife and child.
